Saturday 25th March saw the return of the Calne Spring Sing where choirs from all over Wiltshire rotated through five venues giving short performances of their own kind of music (cue for song!) to audiences of choirs, family, friends and fans alike.

PSG kicked off at St Mary’s Church which is a beautiful venue with fantastic acoustics!  After 6 renditions of our songs,  PSG made a swift walk to the Town Hall and
wowed yet another waiting attentive audience.

With all our voices needing a little lubrication after these high energy showcases, lunch-break was declared. This gave a chance for members to socialise and get to know each other, not to mention catch up with friends from Bath, Swindon, Devizes and Chippenham choirs alike. Calne has some hidden culinary secrets in Antica Roma Italian Restaurant and Sampagitas cafe!

Refreshed, PSG re-grouped at 1.45 pm in Marden House, where performed a half hour set of some of our most recent material including Alicia Keys’ If I Ain’t Got You, Stevie Wonder’s ‘Isn’t She Lovely’ and  Johnny Nash’s ‘I Can See Clearly Now’. We also gave a great rendition of Zac Brown’s ‘Colder Weather’ which seemed to inspire a particularly long spontaneous applause from the crowd.

The choir were in really good voice for this event, which has a special annual place in PSG’ers memories. It was one of the first public outings for PSG not long after its formation – which is nearly ten years now!

If you look through the PSG photo archive you will see just how many worthy “originals” (or should that
be Werthers Originals??????) are still part of the PSG family – and all looking just as youthful – that is what
singing together does for you – it keeps us all spritely!

If you like this sort of music, why not try it for yourself and come along to any of our weekly sessions –
Monday in Devizes, Tuesday in Bath, Tuesday in Swindon and Thursday in Chippenham – see our website for
