As we as a choir gradually head back to everyday life, I find I’m constantly asking myself what the PSG choir dream is. It’s something that many members have asked me about over the last 7 years, and in the past, I’ve often not really known how to answer. The lock down has given me a lot of time to reflect on what I want from life as a musician, husband and more recently, a father.
PSG choirs is a huge factor in my life when thinking about the future, as it brings joy to so many people and provides me with an immensely rewarding outlet to get my musical kicks whilst ultimately providing security and flexibility for my family at the same time.
When PSG was started way back in 2014, I had no idea where it was going to lead to. I thought perhaps a few local performances and a chance to practice writing vocal harmonies and singing with local people. It has now evolved into something much more than a choir in my eyes. I see the choir as a community of like minded people all keen to enjoy each other’s company, taking advantage of new experiences and making amazing music along the way.
So what is the PSG Dream? For me, the vision is simple. Grow our PSG family into something that brings new opportunities, experiences and most importantly, people together from across their local communities so that they can enjoy a lifestyle where music, socialising and trying new things are all a huge part of them. Moving forward we are excited to bring in more events such as outdoor workshops, choir festivals and conventions, trips abroad, campfire singalongs, jam sessions and much more. We are also very excited about the prospect of holding more of the fantastic events we hosted before COVID such as the PSG tour, recording albums, social sings and masterclasses. As we say on the homepage of our website, PSG is so much more than just a choir.
